Bringing in the new (work in progress)
The whole thing started with an improptu service project helping a neighbor, who is getting ready to move, paint her bathroom. My friend Betsy and I were inspired and decided to paint my bathroom as well that afternoon. It's been 3 weeks and it's still not completely finished, but it's getting there and I'm ready to move on to another space in the house.
The orange countertop had to go so I decided to try to paint over it. I figured out if it hated the way it turned out, I hated the way it started, so I wouldn't be that much worse off. I'm still not done with it, but so far am very happy with the way it's turning out.
We painted the ceiling white and the walls Gobi Desert (a tan color)
I'm replacing the baseboards and casing around the door (as well as painting the door white and installing a new doorknob). I'm very proud of this piece of baseboard that I cut to size myself. If you look closely I even had to cut a notch in it to get it to fit under the counter. I was nervous, but after I cut it, it fit perfectly. I think I'll be pointing out this beauty to everyone for awhile. (**note*** I don't know how to use our new camera so the colors aren't turning out great, the baseboard is white and the wall the Gobi Desert color, but here they look the same!!)
